Abstract

Fruit-trees stay on the same soil for a long time. That is why before we plant a fruittree it is important to agromeliorize the soil so that its fertility would be more permanently improved. Once we plant fruit trees and they develop root system throughout the soil, deep treatment of the soil is impossible since it would ruin the roots. There almost isn’t the soil on which the qualities shouldn’t be improved before planting. The choice and scope of agromeliorization depend on the state and fertility of the soil. The work that needs to be done before fruit-trees planting includes planning the ground, removing the excess underground and surface water, protection from others’ drainage basins and improvement of the physical characteristics of the soil (airiness, porosity, permeability to water, structure etc.) to a bigger depth, since fruit-trees have roots significantly deeper than annual plants.
