Abstract

The planned and systematic construction of the lake Šoderica as a tourist resort started in 1956 with the establishment of the Committee for the construction of Šoderica. Since the number of bathers grew with the arrangements on Šoderica, soon the need arose to build facilities there. At first the buildings were built by various companies and organizations and several private individuals. As there were more and more interested private persons who wanted to build weekend houses on Šoderica, already in 1967 it became necessary to draft the General Urban Plan of the tourist-recreational complex Šoderica. The plan was completed and approved in 1970 and after that the first big wave of construction in Šoderica started. Another major wave of construction began after 1982, when the land was proclaimed to be a public property and Šoderica expanded into three cadastral districts. In 1992 it was decided that a new Spatial plan of the tourist recreational center Šoderica should be adopted. A lot of care was taken for Šoderica as a tourist complex, many provisions were adopted on camping, cleanliness, management, opening shops and other facilities, so that Šoderica very quickly became a real tourist destination for residents of Koprivnica and the surrounding areas, but also for tourists from Bjelovar, Križevci and even Zagreb.
