Classification of biotechnology according to UDC in the National and University Library in Zagreb

Abstract

The article describes possibilities and solutions for classification of genetic engineering, biotechnology and molecular genetics as provided in the UDC scheme. Some aspects of UDC class 60 Biotechnology (introduced in 2002) are discussed in the context of then growing number of documents from this field. The author explains how these subjects are classified in the National and University library in Zagreb (Croatia) and provides relevant examples.
