Voiding disorders in children
Đurđica Košuljandić
Abstract
Voiding disorders in children are common. They are manifested by dysfunction in phase of filling and/or emptying the bladder and by bowel motility disorders. Functional voiding disorders are associated with recurrent urinary tract infections, vesicoureteral reflux, reflux nephropathy and constipation. According to the International Children's Continence Society the main clinical symptoms and causes of urinary incontinence in children are nocturnal enuresis and different forms of dysfunction of the lower urinary tract: overactive bladder, dysfunctional voiding or underactive bladder.
