Abstract

The paper centres on one of the greatest Croatian scientists of all time, a philosopher, mathematician, physicist, astronomer, geodesist… who tackled issues in astronomy, optics, mechanics, geodesy, building techniques, etc.
Bošković’s work of life Theoria philosophiae naturalis (1758) presents his views on the structure of matter and the relations in nature, all of which is – as he himself underlines – reduced to a single law of forces that exists in nature. Finally, his most significant treatises are listed.
