Abstract
Croats have come into contact with a number of people and languages since pre-Slavic age so that after their settling, they accepted an extraordinary non- Slavic influence. After the formation of the dialect situation concerning the contemporary dialects, separate dialectal units came into different historical situations. So, the influences, often of different kinds, more often of different languages, were established according to that.
