Comparison of biochemical properties of cholinesterases

Abstract

The paper deals with some characteristic biochemical properties of acetylcholinesterase (EC 3.1.1.7) and cholinesterase (EC 3.1.1.8) such as specificity for substrates, molecular properties and kinetic behaviour towards inhibitors. To enable a quantitative comparison of these enzymes some numerical data are presented in tabular form.
