Abstract

The article elaborates from a political-theological and phenomenological point of view the idea of overcoming the society by community (Jean-Luc Nancy). The first part of the article distinguishes happiness (Aristotle) from the self-centered appropriation (Valdenfels) as basic experiences and basic political imperatives of a premodern (community) and modern (society) existence. From these follow autonomy (Dugin) as a self-organizing community life (community), and sovereignty (Schmitt; Anidjar) as self-centered appropriation of living space (society as lebensraum). The consequence of sovereignty is hostility (the issue of counter-existence) and secularization of the world (de-ontologization). The final part of the article highlights the important aspects of a renewed (ecstatic) foundation (de-secularization) of the community (the world).
