Abstract

After fourteen years (from 1999th to 2012th), where apple leaf miner (Leucoptera malifoliella) appeared in critical populations in north part of Croatia (Medjimurje region), during and after flowering apple 2013th year unexpectedly and suddenly there was a weaker flight wintering generation. Natural limiting factors that prevent overgrowth leaf miner are entomophagous the family Eulophidae and Braconidae. They can destroy 94 % of caterpillars miners (Ciglar, 1981; Balázs, 1992; Celli & Cornale, 1995). Due to the harmonization of Croatian legislation in the field plant protection products with the EU acquis Ministry of Agriculture of the 2007th year began withdrawing funds contained active substances no listed in Anex I to Council Directive 91/414/EEC. Among them some less selective insecticides until mid-2009 ofen used to suppress the codling moth (Cydia pomonella) in Medjimurje apple plantations (eg. diazinon, phosalone). Also, last season during the summer, fewer benefits and chlorpyrifos-methyl, and were replaced by selective active substances (eg. chlorantraniliprol, metoksifenzoid and emamectin benzoate). Best results of chemical control leaf miner (Leucoptera malifoliella) in Medjimurje region are obtained when after apple flowering wintering populations suppressed during the two applications with an average spacing 13-15 days. Then we used the active substance thiacloprid, acetamiprid (neonicotinoids) or abamectin (naturalit), and while it used its accompanying effect on other groups of organisms harmful apples, such as aphids (Aphis, Dysaphis), phytophagous bugs (Calocoris, Lygocoris, Lygus, Nezara, Palomena), apple sawfly (Hoplocampa ), apple leaf curling midge (Dasyneura) and red mite (Panonychus) . Until late May or early June, when we begin to control the codling moth (Cydia), we prefer insect growth regulator or chlorantraniliprol.
