Abstract

Black araucaria scale Lindingaspis rossi is a new member of Croatian entomofauna. The pest is a distinct polyphage feeding on many ornamental trees and shrubs and some fruit species, citrus and olive in particular. So far this pest has been found in the following countries of the Mediterranean basin: Portugal, Spain, Egypt, Monaco, Italy and France. It was first found in Croatia in June 2014 on the island of Brač on palms Phoenix canariensis and Butia capitata as well as on olive trees.
