Abstract
Black araucaria scale (Lindingaspis rossi Maskel 1989) (Hemiptera: Coccoidea: Diaspidiae) is a new member of olive ( Olea europaea L.) entomofauna in Croatia. Its presence was confirmed for the first time in 2014 in Sutivan on the island of Brač. During the first finding in Croatia, a strong intensity on the leaves and fruits has been recorded which shows that species could be a pest of significant economic importance on olives, especially on the fruits. Experiments to explore effectiveness of the selected insecticides, in the aim of control of L. rossi, were carried out during 2015 in Sutivan on the island of Brač. The aim of experiment was to investigate effectiveness of the tested insecticides based on different active substances and their possibilities of use in conventional and organic production. According to Abbott, tested insecticides have shown following effectiveness: oil oilseed rape 52,23 %, mineral oil 61,19 %, tiametoxam 74,02 %, avermectin 86,62 % and dimethoate 89,85 %.
