Abstract

Since its introduction into Europe, Colorado potato beetle has become most severe pest on potato, but it also causes damage on aubergine, pepper, tomato and tobacco. It is widely spread throughout Croatia, with exception of some islands. Larvae and adults cause damage by feeding on leaves, stems and fruits of tomato plants. Control of this pest presents a big challenge, since the species is very prone to development of resistance. Therefore, the number of efficient plant protection products for its control is declining.
