Parasitic higher plants in eastern Slavonia and Baranja

Abstract

In the last several years on the territory of eastern Slavonija and Baranja on cultivated and uncultivated areas Cuscuta sp. has been found with severe occurence. In 2008 and 2011 in sunflower fields almost forgotten parasite Orobanche cumana was recovered. Because of their potential injuriousness for sensitive hosts (sunflower, sugar beet, alfalfa, clover especially) we desribe the most important characteristic of the parasites as wel as possible control measures.
