Abstract

Phytopathogemc fungal species from family Botryosphaeriaceae can cause significant and economically very important diseases of olive, such as olive drupe rot (Dalmatian disease of olive fruit) caused by Botryosphaeria dothidea, black fruit rot which is most often caused by Diplodia seriata, branch blight of olive and partial and complete wilting of olive trees which can be caused by species Diplodia seriata, Neofusicoccum ribis, etc. On the same fungal species can in some cases cause only olive fruit rot and in some cases only olive branch or tree dieback. In Croatia, two diseases of olive caused by fungi from family Botryosphaeriaceae have been described and those are olive drupe rot (Botryosphaeria dothidea, syn. Camarosporium dalmaticum, etc.) and olive dieback (Diplodia seriata).
