Potato blight [PhytOphthOra infestans (Mont.) de Bary] - news in the disease cycle

Abstract
Potato blight caused by P. infestans has been known in Europe since 1845. In Croatia, it was relatively late scientifically described (1924), which does not diminish its significance. With the exception of virus diseases, it is the most important disease of potatoes. The symptoms of potato blight were described, including the disease cycle. Discussed were the consequences that may arise if A2 mating type enters Croatia. Recommendations for protection from the disease such as sanitary mesures, resitant varieties as well timed chemical sprays. All the active ingredients have been listed which are registered in Croatia to control potato blight.
