Abstract

Fungal diseases of potato considered to be less occurring in Croatia are potato powdery scab (Spongospora subterranea), anthracnose or black dot (Colletotrichum coccodes), silver scurf (Helminthosporium solani) and gangrene of potato (Boeremia foveata, sin. Phoma exigua var. foveata). However, in some growing seasons these diseases can also cause damages and lower yields, therefore it is important to be informed about them. This paper will describe anthracnose and gangrene of potato because these diseases have not been sufficiently covered in local literature.
