Abstract

Subcultures are groups of people who have something in common, and due to that feature they significantly differ from other social groups. Although limited in range, content and duration, youth subcultures reflect the contemporarty social structure, but at the same time, anticipate and design the society of the future. Rave subculture, a youth subculture based on the electronic music, is entering its second decade. The time and the space in which it is developing, together with its distinctive forms of experience, expression and identification make this subculture rather independent from the concrete cultural patterns of local cultures. As such, it represents an example of a global, transitory youth subculture.
