Abstract

Various damages of the fortress "Minčeta" during centuries had several causes. These are: partial foundation on the fault, additional construction works cutting the street "Iza grada" and seismic activity of the area. The resulting damage had to be located and the remediation measures were proposed to preserve the walls. Several methods of investigations were used. Geological mapping of the area was the base. Next was GPR profiling, electric and seismic investigation with multichannel analyses of surface waves and the special approach of downhole seismic measurements on the slope of the cut wall. Used methods defined the week rock mass zones that were geotechnically categorized. Grouting of week zones, as the protection from further degradation of walls, was proposed.
