Abstract

An interpretation of museum objects in the necessarily nterdisciplinary approach to the study of the area of interest of a municipal museum leads to a familiarisation with and understanding of the complex organism of the historical urban space of the city.
This is a path that goes on outside the museum space, in the field, linking the museum object with the locus, where it takes on
a dynamic dimension, a logical context. In order to know the city and understand the phases of its development, two museum education projects were directed to the architectural forms of the historical centre, particularly those that tell of the everyday life of the city and its inhabitants. The projects’ purposes were to introduce the less well known heritage, to produce an awareness of the meaning of this architectural heritage in the urban and cultural identity of the city and cultivate the idea of its preservation and protection
