Abstract

For students of Croatian history and historical personages,
Elias Widemann is one of the most interesting 17th century
printmakers, for he included in his two long series of portraits
of Austrian courtiers and Hungarian nobles (from 1649 to
1652) several Croatian aristocrats. In the Graphic Art Collection of the Museum of Arts and Crafts there are three prints
of this Austrian engraver that, considering the size of the
collection and in general the amount of portraits of historical
persons in it, make up a valuable part of the holdings.
