Abstract
Abstract
The author analyses the originalities of the teaching of Pope Francis, evidencing the differences in mediation and subjects. Through the apostolic exhortation “Evangelii Gaudium” and other speeches of the Pope, the author sets the Magisterium of Pope Francis in the context of the secularized world, in which there are no more differences between the traditional Christian and the missionary countries. Hereby the author explains the change in meaning of the concept of the “new evangelization”. Pope Francis promotes the teaching of the 2nd Vatican council, especially regarding the freedom of faith and the relation of Church with the world. Unlike his predecessors, Francis now strongly requests the reform of the Church, after a time in which the notion of aggiornamento (“updating”) was used in a shy way. He is not nostalgic in respect to returning into the former social frameworks of the countries of the older Christian traditions. The evangelization, the poverty of the Church and synodality become the crucial points in the mission of the Church. Among the new forms of the teachings are the everyday homilies of the Pope in the House of St. Marta: they mark the return of the teaching of the Pope to the original practice of the pastoral service which starts from the direct contact with the people.
