A general review of esterases with particular regard to enzymic hydrolysis of organophosphorus compounds

Abstract

Literature data about the classification of esterases, the mechanism of action of hydrolytic enzymes and enzymic hydrolysis of organophosphorus compounds are presented. The literature on distribution, specificity and common characteristics of A-esterases is also surveyed.
