Typography signets and trademarks of Eugen Sekler

Abstract

The paper discusses Eugen Sekler’s essay “On signet, trademarks and other signs” (“O signetu, zaštitnim i inim znakovima”) published in “Grafička revija” in 1924. The corpus of known signs of this trained graphic designer from Osijek is enlarged with previously unpublished typographically conceived signets and trademarks which, along with his figural signs and theoretical pursuits, reveal Sekler’s importance in the affirmation of this segment of visual communication in the interwar period.
