Organization of medical examinations and criteria of health fitness for driving motor vehicles

Abstract
First systematic examinations of professional drivers at the Institute of Public Health of the city of Zagreb were performed in 1958. Since 1960 all medical examinations of health fitness of professional and nonprofessional drivers in the Zagreb area· have been carried out at the Institute. So far over 33.000 persons have been examined. In the paper, organization of the examinations and methods of work are dealt with. The authors, engaged in the examinations since the very beginning, make suggestions regarding the advancement of the service.
