Abstract

The results of examination of 22 workers exposed to the epoxide resin »Araldit D« and to the hardener »H-951« - triethylenetetramine are presented. One half of the workers i. e. 11 of them showed no signs of dermatosis, 10 of them had slight dermatosis, while in 1 worker there appeared serious allergic eczema. Six workers had dermatosis located on arms, four on face and arms and one on knees and lower legs. Clinical state in lighter cases was dominated by erythematous itching patches and swollen eyelids. Relapse occurred in 2 workers. Epicutaneous testing showed allergic hypersensitivity in 2 workers: the worker with serious allergic eczema was found to be hypersensitive both to »Araldit D« and to the hardener »H-951«, while the worker with slight dermatosis was found to be hypersensitive only to »Araldit D«.
