Abstract

Uneven space sensibility of counting systems makes the measurement of the intensity of radioactive sources difficult. If a homogeneous field were realized, time dependence of space distribution of radionuclides would not affect the accuracy of measurement. An attempt to obtain such a field with GM counters is reported, and a number of fairly successful models are described The best of them achieves a 5 per cent maximum relative difference between the points with the least and the points with the greatest sensibility.
