Abstract

Mijo Kišpatić was among the most prominent professors employed at the University of Zagreb at the end of XIX and beginning of XX century. He was the first scientist who received his doctoral degree at renewed University of Zagreb. He was excellent scientist covering very wide knowledge from mineralogy, geology, physics, and biology. We have to be proud of him, because he was looking in front of his time, sometimes more than 40 years. Some of his ideas were recognized among the scientists in the World more than 25 years after his death.
