Four cases of lead tetraethyl poisoning

Abstract

Four light cases of poisoning due to lead tetraethyl are described. Three of them were acute. They developed in an oil refinery on the cleansing of a tank for »ethylated gasoline«. The fourth case was chronic, and seemed to develop on the handling of »ethylated gasoline«, during the filling and emptying of the tank, which means in a working place where no poisoning due to lead tetraethyl has been recorded so far. Literature data are reviewed.
