Abstract
With regard to the difficulties encountered in the diagnosis of early saturnism the authors have developed a diagnostic test consisting of the peroral administration of 3 g of Ca2EDTA (3 X 1 g per day). If urinary lead excretion is after that found to amount to more than 0.340 mg Pb/24 h, it can be considered as indicating the possibility of saturnism.
