Toxicity of parathion in rats 1-12 months old

Abstract

The acute toxicity of Parathion (E 605, diethyl-p-nitrophenyl thiophosphate) was determined after its intraperitoneal application to male albino rats 1-12 months old. Considerable differences in the sensitivity of young rats (up to 4 months) and the older ones were observed. The rats to be chosen for the determination of organophosphorus compound toxicity are those aged 5 to 8 months.
