Abstract

Phosphamidon produces typical symptoms of anticholinesterase poisoning. Sublethal doses of phosphamidon given to mice and rats produce a pronounced but comparatively short cholinesterase inhibition in the blood and brain. The highest number of the therapeutical and pharmacological effects of phosphamidon observed both on anaesthetized animals and isolated organs can be attributed to the anticholinesterase activity of phosphamidon. The therapeutic effect of atropine and TMB-4 is studied. When given simultaneously, their therapeutic effect is much higher than when given separately.
