Abstract

Paraneoplastic rheumatologic syndromes are rare and very
important complications and epiphenomena of a variety
of malignant solid and hematologic diseases. Awareness
about paraneoplastic rheumatologic syndromes, the elucidation
of their underlying pathophysiological mechanisms,
and their recognition may have a direct impact on the
correct diagnosis, management, and treatment, as well as on the prognosis of the rheumatic and underlying malignant
diseases. In this paper some of the most common
and important paraneoplastic syndromes are reviewed.
