Normal coproporphyrin values in urine

Abstract

A brief review is given of the metabolism of porphyrin, the release and ratio of isomers in urine, and literature data on normal values and the causes of their variability. The analysis of coproporphyrin in urine is made in 150 healthy persons (75 men and 75 women). Higher values are observed in men. This difference is statistically insignificant.
