Abstract

Nowadays interreligious dialogue is greatly diluted and unclear. That is why the article wants to point to two preconditions nece- ssary for its restoration: seriousness towards the clarity of faith of the Church and importance of correct positioning of fundamental principles of dialogue among religions that are acceptable to all. Therefore, the first two chapters present the motives and content of the declaration “Dominus Iesus”, which unpleasantly clearly reminds of the centre of faith. The third chapter presents the interreligious dialogue through the vision of intercultural dialogue of Italian philosopher Marcello Pera, whose basic thesis is that (firstly) no dialogue is needed on the truth of a particular religion, but on the cultural effects that this religion brings into the world. At the end of the article it is shown that the common denominator of the mentioned declaration and Pera’s concept is to provide a truly fruitful dialogue of religions for the Church and the world, which remains open to conversion to Christ through the best effects that the Church has to bring to the world.
