Abstract

Occupational diseases are diseases directly induced by work and working conditions. In the Republic of Croatia, through procedure set out by law, occupational diseases are reported and recognized by Croatian Health Insurance Fund and registered and monitored in the Registry of Occupational Diseases kept by the Croatian Institute for Health Protection and Safety at Work. Diagnosis and recognition of occupational diseases is a complex and lengthy process. Non-compliance with regulations and non-compliance with the diagnostic algorithms prolong the process. The paper presents and analyses the causes of this situation.
