The effect of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and lead ions on synaptic transmission

Abstract

The effects of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and lead ions on acetylcholine output and synaptic transmission are briefly summarised. Author's own results obtained by direct measurement of the acetylcholine output from the superior cervical ganglion of the cat are discussed.
