Abstract
The content of vitamin C in blood of workers was determined before and after the work in different thermal environment. No statistically significant difference was found in vitamin C content in blood between subjects performing light work in hot environment and those performing heavy work in normal thermal environment. Even light work in hot environment should, therefore, be concerned as heavy physical work. The low content of vitamin C in both groups of workers (those working in hot environment and those performing heavy work in normal thermal condition) showed that these subjects were almost on the limit of avitaminosis. The administration of C vitamin is therefore recommended in such cases.
