Abstract

The goal of this thesis is to show researches that are dealing with the transition of adolescents to high school and university, as well as adaptation of adolescents in that age. In school context, especially important, sometimes even stressful, for adolescents are transition times when passing from lower classes to higher classes in elementary school, passing from elementary to high school, and transition from high school to university. All these transitions through educational system require psychosocial adaptation of adolescents, that is for adolescents represent social and emotional load and require additional engagement. Some adolescents will organize better in this, sooner and earlier adapt to new circumstances, while with others adjustments will cause different reactions and become sources of stress. Results of research analysis also show that researches that deal with transition of adolescents to high school and university, as well as adjustment of adolescents in those periods usually are not present enough, especially not in our system.
