Abstract

Obesity is a major risk factor of essential hypertension, diabetes and other disease states that contribute to the development of chronic kidney disease. The aim of this work is to examine the available literature, to determine that obesity is an independent factor for the development of kidney disease. The basis for this research was the database PubMed. Obesity is the biggest pandemic in recent history, with important implications for cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease. Literature data indicate a clear relationship to the body mass index, visceral obesity, and renal dysfunction. Timely detection of chronic kidney disease can slow its progression and reduce mortality in patients acting on variable risk factors. Glycemic control delay renal failure because of diabetes, control of blood pressure and prevents the progression of renal disease. Compliance with medical instructions, as well as a serious understanding of the recommendations on the reduction of excess body weight, significantly contributed to the success. Family physician permanent patient care is in a position to detect early disease and lead active patients in the control of chronic diseases. The positive attitude of doctors and patients is one of the essential elements of compliance.
