Simulation of occupational lead poisoning

Abstract
Three cases of simulation of occupational lead poisoning are discussed and a short synopsis of the problem of simulation is given. In the first case - that of a printer - the attempted simulation has been proved by the finding of particles of printing letters alloy in the stools. These particles were found also in the intestines by a radiography of the abdomen. In the second and third cases - those of a storage battery worker and a linotyper-various circumstances pointed towards simulation, especially an exceedingly lengthy course of clinical pictures and a particularly late beginning of the poisoning as well as the signs of fresh intake of lead a long time after work with lead had ceased. In all three cases there was a distinctly noticeable motive for simulation: i. e. the disability insurance premium.
