Occupational hygiene in medical education

Abstract

At the School of Public Health in Zagreb (Director Professor Štampar) the first one-year postgraduate course on industrial hygiene for physicians was terminated in December, 1950. Twelve doctors passed successfully the final examination and most of them are destined to become sanitary inspectors in industry. The article, written for this occasion deals with
1. Teaching of industrial hygiene on medical faculties;
2. Postgraduate courses on industrial hygiene for medical men; and
3. sums up, at the end, the experience acquired in the course just ended.
Special instruction on industrial hygiene, was organized and carried out by the Institute of Industrial Hygiene of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts.
