Abstract

The article, on the basis of an insight into the emergence of a new culture, founded on the Internet and virtual social networks, points to new communication tools that extend the possibility of evangelization, which poses significant challenges to the Church. The Church is called to use the new communication opportunities, especially the new social services, not only as an evangelization bulletin board, but as a challenge to enrich the “digital continent” with the Gospel, using the dynamics of two-way communication that evaluates speaking and listening, arguments and testimony of Christian digital profile. There are numerous network services by which it is possible to realize this, first of all Facebook, YouTube, Blog services, Instagram, Twitter, and many mobile phone applications, which is all supported by concrete examples in this work. However, all these new opportunities open up moral and ethical issues, and a clear answer is expected from the Church. In the final part, the paper presents practical possibilities of evangelization using the modern media and social networks and suggests the ways in which modern media could be much better used for new evangelization.
