Abstract

Following several years of monitoring the occurrence of diseases and pests in the intensive almond plantations in Dalmatian Zagora region, harmful organisms are listed. Determined fungal pathogens were Monilinia spp., Stigmina carpophila, Polystigma fulvum, Tranzschelia discolor, Taprina deformans, Colletotrichum acutatum and Diaporthe amygdali. Determined pests were Anthonomus amygdali, Taeniothrips meridionalis and Tropinota hirta. During last July and August, a strong mite attack (Tetranicus spp., Panonychus spp.) was observed in the orchards. The authors also point to the lack of registered plant protection products for suppression of some harmful organisms in almond plantations.
