Abstract

The article discussed the problem of weed resistance. Herbicide resistance, cross‐resistance and multiple resistance are defined according to the HRAC. Theoretical case of how resistance frequency increases in a weed population is described. Factors that decrease selection pressure are discussed. The risk of development resistance is increase by combination of factors that increase the selection pressure on an herbicide. General guidelines that help classify management option which when combined to decrease or increase the risk of developing resistance are shown in the table. Diagnostic tests for herbicide resistance detecting described too.
