Abstract
After publication of the first public CEF Synergy call for delivery of project applications (on September 28, 2016), which was sent by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA), the project team of HŽ Infrastruktura started making the project proposal. After this, in consultation with the company Ernst & Young Savjetovanje d.o.o., they started drawing up application documentation for the mentioned call. All
necessary documentation (A, B, C and D forms) was delivered electronically on December 12, 2016. An evaluation of incoming applications was completed at the end of March 2017. Seven out of fourteen sent applications were accepted, and among them HŽ Infrastruktura project as well. After the project application, terms of reference and procurement documents were prepared. The applied CEF Synergy project will encompass determining the current status of the railway power system and provide suggestions for applicable technical solutions in terms of enabling the return of electricity into the transmission power network, reactive power compensation and introduction of intelligent train control systems. In the course of defining possible solutions, the influence on the transmission power system will be taken into consideration and a technical connection with SINCRO.GRID project will be determined, which represents a group of technological solutions and concepts applied in the power transmission system, with the aim of increasing the capacity of power transmission, and with the function of increasing the capacity and flexibility of the transmission network.
