Abstract

Two serial publications began to be printed on the Istrian peninsula in the late 19th and the early 20th century. The first, titled Atti e memorie della Società istriana di archeologia e storia patria (AMSI) was founded in 1884 in Poreč as the review of the Società istriana di archeologia e storia patria association, which was founded in Poreč in the same year. Despite a few breaks in publishing, the journal is published even today. The second publication is Pagine istriane (PI), which was published, with two breaks, in Koper, Pula, Trieste and Genoa from 1903 to 1987. Both journals feature diverse topics related to Istria, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and the Gulf of Kvarner. They also cover a broad spectrum of disciplines such as history, art history, archaeology, linguistics, ethnology and folklore, literature, philosophy, politics, music, Church, architecture, and so on. The aim of this paper is to list the articles from the field of linguistics published in these two journals. The list was obtained by examining the copies of these magazines available in the library of the Institute for Historical and Social Sciences of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Rijeka, the State Archives in Rijeka library, in the Digital Library of Slovenia (http://www.dlib.si/), the University Library in Rijeka, the National and University Library in Zagreb, in the Library of the Archaeological Museum of Istria, and in the Library of the Centre for Historical Research in Rovinj. One hundred and seventy bibliographic units were found, and then divided into two groups. The first group contains 80 articles dealing with the etymology of toponyms, while the other group consists of 90 articles dealing with dialectology, contact linguistics and anthroponymy. Book reviews were omitted in these lists. This appendix to the bibliography can certainly be of use to researchers of linguistic topics on Istria, Kvarner and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
