Theoretical Definition of Pedagogical Management

Abstract

Pedagogical management is a young discipline in education. Management in education occurs later than in the economy. The reason is primarily the lack of recognition of management as a discipline in the educational field and the social status of education. School management is one of the key problems of pedagogical management. Over the last ten years, the importance of studying management in education has been emphasized. Particular importance is given to the influence of leading styles on quality pedagogical school management. Emphasis is placed on managerial competence of the Head teacher, leadership styles, and personality traits. The aim of the thesis is to explain the basic concepts of management and the role of the Head teacher as a manager. This thesis presents an overview of competencies and desirable characteristics of the Head teacher in order to be able to successfully manage the school. The thesis discusses theories and models of leadership with reference to significant leadership theories.
