Abstract

The author writes about the distinguished Croatian sculptor and medallist Robert Frangeš-Mihanović and about his success at international exhibitions of medals in Hungary. He specially underlines Frangeš’s success at the great exhibition of medals held in Budapest in 1907. The exhibition showed 221 works by 28 artists. It was organised by the Medal Lovers’ Society (EKE), and Robert Frangeš-Mihanović won first place with the beautiful plaque Europa and the Bull, which was then cast in silver and bronze in a very limited issue and handed out to the supporting and full members of the Society. The plaques were numbered.
