Abstract

Starting from the idea that the word/term “revelation” is
used today not only to identify or describe a particular aspect of
Christian faith, but to designate the global reality of it, the article
argues about the importance of deistic criticism of Revelation
in determining the Revelation as a central category of Christian
self-understanding and above all the structure of the modern
apologetic treatise. This deistic criticism is presented through
the most prominent authors - Toland, Collins, Tindal; then it is
examined how the “tripartite” manual, about Religion - Revelation
- Church, has come up, emphasizing the centrality of Revelation
inside the manual and its close ties to the deistic criticism
of Revelation.
