At that time, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Osijek represented the comer stone of the medical science and clinical expertise in this part of the country. Since medical information, as well as illness itself knows no boundaries, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Medicine positively influenced both the professional and scientific work of the majority of Slavonian county hospitals. The Faculty of Medicine and general hospitals had a two-way relationship.
